Jennifer Lopez is a ‘proud’ mom as kids get into all colleges they applied to despite ‘struggles’
Jennifer Lopez recently interviewed with Extra, chatting about their upcoming movie, “Office Romance.” In the process, she also opened up about various aspects of her life, including her children graduating from school. She was asked how she feels seeing her twins go off to college and step into the next phase of life. Lopez responded with a rather proud smile on her face. She said, “I am so proud that they set goals for themselves and they got into all five colleges that they applied to. Each one got a scholarship to a school, you know. And I just felt like they worked so hard. I watched how hard they worked during you know. From the time they were, like you know, when school gets serious.”
But that’s not all, Lopez further added, “They worked hard and worked hard. Um, they both have ADHD, so they, you know, they learn differently, and there were struggles and times.” Also, she added, “I’m just so proud of them because they did what they said they were going to do. Lopez continued, “They’re good people. They’re loving, good-hearted people. I always say to them, ‘What do I say?’ And they said, “Doesn’t matter if we get good grades so long as we’re good people.” And I said, “That’s right!” And they still, you know, sometimes will quote that back to me. So, I’m just very proud of them.”
Lopez’s comments offered a glimpse into the values she has worked to instill in her children throughout their lives. While she is undoubtedly thrilled by their academic achievements and scholarship offers, it is their kindness, compassion, and determination that seem to make her the proudest. As her twins embark on an exciting new chapter, Lopez is clearly confident that they are carrying those lessons with them into the future.
