Kate Middleton’s comment about the impact of cancer treatment on her and Prince William’s kids has caught fans’ attention. In a viral video, the Princess of Wales met a young mother who had completed her course of chemotherapy. Middleton hugged and congratulated her, then shared an emotional message. Her gesture seemed more meaningful because the princess herself had gone through a health battle. For those unversed, she was diagnosed with cancer in March 2024. The next year, she was in remission.
Kate Middleton opens up about the cancer treatment being ‘hard’ on her kids
Kate Middleton consoled a young mother by sharing how cancer treatment was “hard” on her kids. In a video shared by Hello! Magazine, the future queen warmly hugged a 30-year-old patient, Claire Lorente. She was celebrating the final day of her chemotherapy and standing beside the “end of treatment” bell.
On the screen of the clip, it read, “The Princess of Wales’ voice breaks as she cheers on cancer patient ringing the bell.” Then, the clip showed the royal member embracing Lorente, who was emotional. “Well done you… what a journey. It’s been a tough one, yeah?,” Middleton told the woman.
After her encouraging and comforting words to the patient, the princess also hugged Lorente’s partner, Pablo. She told him, “I know it’s just as hard for families and loved ones. I know how hard it was for the children and my parents. You go through it with them.” Middleton referred to her days of treatment, sharing that her family, too, went through a tough time.
Furthermore, in the video, Lorente’s baby caught the Princess of Wales’ attention. She greeted the little one and asked softly, “Isn’t Mummy brave?” Then, it was time for the patient to ring the bell. To give her space, Middleton stepped back and said, “This is your day.” Throughout the emotional celebration, the princess smiled and offered support.
