During an interview on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Millie Bobby Brown spoke out against critics who judged her family logistics. She firmly defended her husband, Jake Bongiovi, from online trolls. The latter claimed he was not doing enough to help her while traveling. Modern parenting often comes with a lot of unwanted opinions from outsiders. For this global star, handling public criticism is just another part of life.
Millie Bobby Brown defends husband Jake Bongiovi, says she can carry her baby and bags
The controversy started after photos surfaced online showing Millie Bobby Brown carrying multiple suitcases, personal travel bags, and her child all by herself. Internet users quickly rushed to criticize her husband, asking why he was letting her carry everything.
But Brown quickly set the record straight, explaining that she is simply a highly organized planner who likes to take charge. “Because I’m three miles ahead. I have been planning this all night,” Brown laughed.
The actress expressed frustration with the double standards women face. She pointed out that society pushes for female empowerment, but then criticizes women when they show independent strength. “We’re all about empowering girls and like, ‘You don’t need a man.’ But then when I’m like, ‘Okay, I can carry my own things,’ people are like, ‘Oh, where’s your husband?'”
The “Stranger Things” actress made it clear that her husband is incredibly supportive behind the scenes. “Nobody knows my husband. My husband is the most kind, sweet, like will do anything for me, but he also knows I’m capable,” Brown insisted.
Podcast host Kylie Kelce completely agreed with her mindset. Kelce shared that people often offer to help her carry things, too, but she prefers to handle it herself unless she actually asks for help.
Ultimately, Brown loves the idea of chivalry and politeness in a relationship. However, she does not want people to assume she is weak and has to handle a heavy load. “Don’t act like I’m broken or dainty. I’m not broken,” Brown concluded.
