Emily Ratajkowski has spoken candidly about her sex life following her divorce from Sebastian Bear-McClard. The 35-year-old model said she had never casually dated before, but after her split, she decided to “explore a new kind of woman.”
Emily reveals she and ex-Sebastian stopped being intimate shortly after her son was born
In a June 12 piece for The Cut, Ratajkowski, who gained fame after appearing in Love Somebody by Maroon 5 in 2012 and Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke in 2013, wrote candidly about dating as a single mother in New York City. The cover photo shows the model breastfeeding while wearing an open black Gucci jacket, black Gucci pants, and a Dior Homme glove from Artifact, according to InStyle.
Ratajkowski wrote that after giving birth to her son, Sylvester Apollo Bear, in March 2021, she went through “a violent transition into a new raw reality of a screaming baby on my aching chest and a ring on my swollen finger,” as Page Six states.
She said her “marriage collapsed” in a period that felt both instant and painfully slow. “Six months after my son was born, my husband and I stopped having sex. Less than a year later, we separated,” she wrote.
Ratajkowski began dating Bear-McClard shortly after her split from musician Jeff Magid in January 2018. They married in February 2018 and got separated in July 2022 after four years of marriage, with sources alleging he had cheated on her.
Following the split, Ratajkowski wanted to casually date after becoming a single mother. “I had no illusions about the romance of marriage or a shared life together. I’d learned the hard way that being alone was better than most partnerships. I’d seen too much, discovered what many women do only when they get divorced in their mid-40s. I’d lived through the failure of a unit, yet I was barely into my 30s. This was my villain origin story.” Adding, “Being a New Yorker made being a single mom feel sexier [and] bohemian, or at least that’s what I told myself,” reports Us Weekly.
Following the widely publicized split, the model has been romantically linked to several high-profile figures. She was briefly linked to Brad Pitt in September 2022, later dated the Saturday Night Live alum Pete Davidson, comedian Eric André, and she was also spotted kissing Harry Styles in Tokyo in early 2023, reports Cosmopolitan. She is currently dating French film director Romain Gavra.
