Bunnie Xo says she and Jelly Roll are ‘having a baby’ amid divorce
Speaking on her Dumb Blonde podcast, Bunnie XO addressed the status of her relationship with Jelly Roll and shared a major update about their family plans. According to Bunnie, the couple still intends to raise a child together even though they are no longer married. “We’re still having a baby together,” she said, adding that the singer remains one of the most important people in her life.
Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, stressed that their situation may not fit traditional expectations. She described their relationship as unconventional and explained that they plan to co-parent moving forward. “J is my best friend,” she said. “Nobody cheated on the other person. It’s literally just we served our purpose for each other,” she added.
According to court documents that Entertainment Weekly obtained, Jelly Roll officially filed for divorce on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee. The paperwork states that the couple separated on May 9 and lists “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
The two had been together for nearly a decade, tying the knot in August 2016 after first meeting backstage at one of Jelly Roll’s concerts in Las Vegas. In a full-circle moment, they later returned to the same venue to renew their vows seven years after saying “I do.”
She also looked ahead to the future and wrote in her memoir, “We’re going to raise these babies in love and give them everything we were never given.” Bunnie said their dream of becoming parents finally became possible thanks to advances in IVF and the support of a surrogate.
