Olympic skiing icon Bode Miller was arrested in Idaho earlier this month, according to court records. The 48-year-old alpine ski racer faces two misdemeanor drug charges related to an incident that reportedly occurred on June 6.

According to TMZ, Miller, an Olympic skiing star who earned six Olympic medals and four World Championship titles to his name, was arrested in Idaho and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Court records indicate that Miller posted a $5,000 cash bond and was subsequently released. He has entered not guilty pleas to both charges. His attorney also filed an appearance shortly after the case was opened. The case remains ongoing, with Miller scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing on July 29.
The arrest comes three days before the eighth anniversary of a family tragedy. On June 9, 2018, Miller and his wife, former professional beach volleyball player Morgan Beck, lost their 19-month-old daughter, Emmy, following a drowning accident at a neighbor’s swimming pool in Orange County, California, according to Parade.
Miller shared the news in a 2018 Instagram post, writing, “Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to its fullest every day. Our family respectfully requests privacy during this painful time.” In 2023, Miller said on an episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 2 that the aftermath was “brutal” and that the pain “does not go away,” states Decider.
According to the Daily Mail, Miller and Beck, who married in 2012, share six other children, including twin boys. Miller also has a son with Sara McKenna and a daughter from Chanel Johnson.
