Thousands of Australia Fans Sing Anti-Donald Trump Chant at World Cup

Australian fans have taken their anti-Donald Trump chants from the stands to the streets of Santa Clara. More than 7,000 Socceroos supporters marched toward the stadium, belting out chants. They turned a parking lot singalong into a full-blown political moment at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The chants, which target Donald Trump over his alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein, have followed Australia’s team across the tournament. It has now found its loudest stage yet on American soil.

On Thursday, Socceroos fans packed a Santa Clara strip mall and nearby restaurants before marching along Tasman Drive to the stadium. Around 3 p.m., supporters from Down Under broke into the chant for the first time in a strip mall parking lot.

The chant, “Aussie boys, we’re on a bender, Donald Trump is a sex offender,” became a regular fixture throughout the march. At one point, fans followed it up with another jab, singing “We’re all getting deported” to the tune of the viral “No Scotland, No Party” chant.

The moment did not go unnoticed beyond the streets. HBO host John Oliver celebrated the chant on his weekly show, saying, “Until now, the best thing Australia gave the U.S. was avocado toast and Nicole Kidman, but they have just topped themselves.”

The chant’s prominence comes amid heightened attention on Trump’s World Cup involvement. FIFA President Gianni Infantino has reportedly confirmed that Trump will join him in presenting the trophy to the winning captain following the final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. This is a break from tradition, where Infantino alone handled the presentation duties (via ESPN).

For the traveling Australian supporters, the chants appear to reflect a broader cultural disposition. The Australia World Cup contingent has built a reputation across the tournament for irreverent humor and relentless singing. The anti-Trump lyrics are becoming their most internationally recognizable number. Whether the chant follows the Socceroos more into the knockout stages remains to be seen.
