Tiffany Haddish responded to the White House’s statement about one of her jokes on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The 46-year-old comedian joked that she had “finally become Jimmy Kimmel” after her jab at President Donald Trump caught the attention of the White House.
Tiffany Haddish joked that getting called out by the White House was proof she had finally made it as Jimmy Kimmel’s guest host
While filling in as guest host for Kimmel this week, Haddish said on the July 7 episode, as per USA Today, “People are blaming Donald Trump for the loss after he got FIFA to help Team USA. It seems like everything Trump touches dies. Which I guess is why his tiny hands are all (expletive) up.”
She added she’s “really enjoying the World Cup though,” saying, “I have never watched so much soccer in my life, and there are so many things to love about it.” Asked about Haddish’s comments, White House spokesman David Ingle fired back, “Who the hell is Tiffany Haddish?”
Haddish discussed the matter during the show’s July 8 monologue. Haddish responded, as per Mashable, “Who am I? Huh, huh? I’m the bitch you walk past to get to your coach seat, motherf***er.” She went on to point out that she was a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model before aiming at David Ingle, jokingly asking whether he was “a new character in Little House on the Prairie” who had somehow ended up in the White House.
Haddish continued by saying she was excited that the White House was upset with her, adding that it was the moment she had “finally become Jimmy Kimmel.” She also joked that she had one question: if the president removed her from the air, would she still be paid for the entire week?
Haddish kicked off her guest-hosting run on the show on July 6, filling in during Kimmel’s two-month summer break. She is the first in a lineup of guest hosts that includes Colman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson, Jelly Roll, and Rosie O’Donnell, reports People.
