Donald Trump Blames Barack Obama Over Iran Nuclear Deal

Donald Trump has once again criticized his presidential predecessor, Barack Obama, by blaming the former president for the country’s current situation with Iran. During a recent interview, Trump responded to a question about Tehran’s declaration regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz by placing responsibility on Obama’s past dealings with the Middle Eastern nation.

The Fox & Friends call revived Donald Trump’s attacks on Obama and the Iran nuclear deal

According to The Daily Beast, while speaking on Fox & Friends via a phone call, Donald Trump ripped into Barack Obama for the nuclear pact he signed with Iran during his time in the White House.

Trump described him as the “worst of all” the presidents over the past 47 years. He stated, “He went to their side, and because of that, they [Iran] built and became more powerful because of Obama.”

Notably, Barack Obama had overseen the signing of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, also referred to as the JCPOA or the Iran nuclear deal, in 2015, which aimed to limit the Middle Eastern nation’s nuclear program. Trump recently berated his Democratic counterpart for his part in the agreement, calling him “a disaster” during the NATO summit in Turkey, as per The Daily Beast.

But then Biden came in, and I held him down. I stopped him – the JCPOA, I stopped it. And stopped it really powerfully.”

Continuing his criticism of the JCPOA, the president stated, “That agreement is the worst agreement that has been signed by this country. That’s a top-five bad agreement.”

During the interview, Trump also claimed that the United States could eventually take control of the Strait of Hormuz.
