Prince Harry recently got candid about hair loss in a Joe Marler podcast interview. The discussion turned playful with talk of his hair, a welcome respite from the tension of his visit. The episode struck a casual tone, with the Duke of Sussex reflecting on family life, public perception, and the lighter moments of being in the spotlight.
Prince Harry addresses going bald during latest podcast appearance
Prince Harry spoke openly about going bald during his recent appearance on The Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast. The episode was released on Monday, July 13, after being filmed during his recent visit to the UK.
The interview covered a lot of ground, with the Duke of Sussex talking about coping with trauma and the exercise he loves. When the topic turned to grooming, the 41-year-old admitted, smiling, that his hairline has thinned over the years.
When the topic of grooming came up, Prince Harry joked: “I trim my beard every five, six days just to keep it a little bit tidy. Nothing really happening on top (pointing to his head). I get a haircut, otherwise I try not to look at what’s happening.”
Per The Daily Express, this marked the second time during his UK visit last week that the Duke of Sussex spoke about his hair loss, an issue that affects half of UK men by age 40.
Speaking at the one-year countdown for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham on Friday, the Duke said: “What has struck me walking around the arena today was just how many faces I recognize from those different groups that were part of that original journey back in 2014. Some of us have lost our hair.”
The podcast episode also moved into more emotional territory as Prince Harry reflected on a parenting lesson passed down by his late mother, Princess Diana. The father-of-two shared that he prioritizes physical affection on difficult days, saying, “And if a day is hard, one thing I will do is always squeeze my kids that extra, extra tight.” He added that the resilience of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet is incredibly refreshing to witness.
