The son of Amy Fisher, known as the Long Island Lolita after she shot the wife of her alleged 36-year-old lover, Mary Jo Buttafuoco, in 1992 at the age of 17, has been charged over the alleged death of his pet cat. Reports state that Fisher’s son, 25-year-old Brett Anthony Bellera, faces charges of aggravated animal cruelty.

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Bellera, Fisher’s eldest child with ex-husband and retired NYPD officer Louis Bellera, and his girlfriend Jennifer Armenti, 36, are both charged with aggravated animal cruelty following the death of their cat Reaper, who was found burned inside their Fort Lauderdale apartment in December 2024, reports the New York Post.
According to WPLG Local 10, arrest affidavits state that a friend of the couple reported Reaper’s death to Broward County Animal Care on December 15, 2024. Police said Armenti claimed she found the cat dead on the bathroom floor, while animal care workers later discovered the body on the back patio inside a laundry basket.
The affidavits state that a forensic necropsy by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals found Reaper died from “involuntary heat exposure,” potentially involving microwave radiation, hot water, or hot water vapor. However, officials have not publicly identified the cause of the fatal injuries.
Fisher was sentenced to prison herself and has served seven years before being granted parole in 1999. Now 51, she has moved into a webcam career from her Long Island residence. In 2017, her ex-husband Bellera told the New York Post that he did not support her decision, though they had already been divorced for two years. He said, “I can’t force her not to do it.”
