The long-awaited reunion between the Sussexes and King Charles reportedly took place on July 10, 2026. Reports suggest that the Sussexes were invited to Highgrove House, Charles’ private country estate in Gloucestershire.
According to Fox News, not even the Prince and Princess of Wales knew the details of the meeting. Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl shared that the King, “who has sworn his youngest son and daughter-in-law to secrecy,” ensured that no details about the reunion were leaked. This is why there were reportedly no photographs taken and no official press release issued.
The King reportedly wanted to repair the rift that had existed since Harry and Markle stepped down as senior working royals in 2020. The couple later moved to California and pursued their independent ventures. The meeting was especially significant as the King had not seen his grandchildren in several years.
A source told Nicholl that the meeting was “completely cloak-and-dagger, orchestrated by the king.” The source added, “The king wanted to see Harry and the children. A time was agreed for the Sussexes to come to Highgrove… and it was uncharacteristically last-minute for the king. Everyone was sworn to secrecy so that the meeting could remain private.”
