Megyn Kelly Calls Out The View’s Sunny Hostin’s ‘Hypocrisy’ in Latest Clash

Megyn Kelly has criticized Sunny Hostin after the “The View” co-host faced backlash over her response during her son Gabriel’s recent legal trouble. Kelly acknowledged Hostin’s role as a mother, but wondered about what she described as a double standard. The comments followed a bodycam video of Hostin’s interaction with police during the incident with her son.

Megyn Kelly accused Sunny Hostin of hypocrisy after she allegedly tried to use her celebrity status to keep her son from being arrested

Kelly discussed the situation on “The Megyn Kelly Show” and said Hostin’s actions showed “hypocrisy” because of her past comments about privilege. Kelly said she believed many parents would try to help their child in a difficult moment. However, she criticized Hostin for using her public status and legal background during the encounter and said, “No one’s above the law.”

The feud started when police stopped Hostin’s 24-year-old son Gabriel on June 16 near Metro-North Railroad tracks in Westchester County. Gabriel was cited for trespassing, but not arrested, according to the report. Bodycam footage revealed Hostin said to an officer, “My name is Sunny Hostin, and I’m one of the co-hosts of The View, and I’m a former federal prosecutor.” She also told officers that her son had no criminal record and was a Harvard graduate.

Hostin reportedly asked officers to avoid moving forward with the charges against her son. She also called it an “innocent mistake”. The officers said that they had to take action because cameras captured the whole situation. One officer told Hostin the charge was dropped to a trespass violation, and praised her for cooperating.

Kelly then wondered if Hostin’s son got the benefit of his mother’s success and connections. Hostin has not publicly reacted to Kelly’s remarks. The legal case against Gabriel continues, and he will appear in court on July 31.
