Shakira takes on FIFA World Cup in plunging Roberto Cavalli bodysuit with huge side cutouts
Shakira delivered an energetic performance of the song “Dai Dai” wearing a bespoke two-piece Roberto Cavalli look designed by Creative Director Fausto Puglisi. Inspired by the house’s iconic Ray of Gold motif, the custom outfit featured an exclusive Ray of Sunset print that captured radiant golden-hour tones infused with vibrant pink accents.
The ensemble comprised a bold structured bodysuit and a dynamically draped skirt. The bodysuit featured a deep criss-cross neckline and side cutouts. Designed using the traditional moulage draping technique, the flowing skirt was composed of embroidered and fringed satin chiffon strips. Rendered in both the signature sunset print and pink hues, the strips created effortless, fluid movement that accentuated every step of her choreography.
It took more than 120 hours of hand-embroidery to embellish the bodysuit with over 200,000 Swarovski crystals. The garment was a product of two weeks of meticulous creation. Further, the crystal embellishments created a dazzling, luminous gradient across shades of pink, orange, and warm citrine.
Shakira stayed barefoot for her performance. She sported matching high-top-style footwear embellished in the same glowing sunset colours for other parts of the show. Sporty, metallic mirrored sunglasses with translucent yellow rims shielded her eyes. She wore her honey-blonde hair in long, loose, voluminous natural curls that caught the wind and whipped around while she performed.
Meanwhile, her makeup featured a radiant, sun-kissed glam, highlighted by a pop of bold pink lip colour. Fans complimented her look in the comments, writing, “So pretty I loved her dress” and “Fabulous! So Beautiful!”
