Stewart aired video of Donald Trump addressing reporters beside Air Force One after Spain’s 1-0 victory over Argentina at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. A lookalike immediately hijacked his attention. The man appeared to mirror the president’s physique, movement, age bracket, and even wore a matching navy suit.
“What’s up with the guy behind Trump? Can we see that again? Can you bring that out? Who the f*** is this guy?” Stewart demanded, visibly thrown by Donald Trump’s lookalike. His bewilderment only got more intense as the clip replayed. “Who in the world is it? Oh my God! Is that a back-up Trump?”
Stewart pushed the bit further, questioning whether viewers had unknowingly watched a presidential stand-in. “Wait, is the one we’ve been dealing with back-up Trump or is that Trump?!” he asked.
Officials have not identified the mystery man. Observers suggest he could be Viktor Knavs, Melania Trump’s father, who accompanied the president to the match. A similar thing has happened with the first lady. A persistent theory, without evidence, has reportedly long claimed she deploys a doppelgänger during public engagements.
Stewart broadened his critique to Trump’s conduct during the World Cup trophy ceremony. The president lingered onstage alongside Spain’s winning squad, seemingly reluctant to exit the spotlight. “What the f*** are you doing on the stage? It’s for the players,” Stewart fumed. “Why must everything be tainted by the overinflated ego of Cankles Muldoon?”
Nonetheless, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle fired back when The Independent sought comment. “Jon Stewart is a talentless hack who clearly suffers from a severe and debilitating disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his peanut-sized brain and ruined his life to the point he has to compensate for his embarrassing inadequacies,” Ingle stated.
