A Secret Service agent has reportedly leaked JD Vance’s travel details to MS NOW.

An investigation is underway after JD Vance travel details were reportedly leaked
A July 15 MS NOW story has detailed JD Vance’s travel plans. It has been revealed that Vance will be using a Marine Corps helicopter to fly to his son’s golf lesson. The flight was eventually cancelled.
According to CNN, the agent had leaked the confidential information to MS NOW reporters. The report also talks about Vance’s security retinue being displeased with having to cover Vance’s personal travel needs, calling it a liability.
Reportedly, the report has irked the White House, who do not appreciate the leaking of operational details to the media. The agent is under review with the agency’s internal affairs department. It is not known what steps will be taken against him.
This incident puts more pressure on the Trump administration’s move to crack down on media houses that breach privacy boundaries. Just earlier this year, the government slapped subpoenas on four reporters of The New York Times, who published a report on inadequate security features in the presidential aircraft gifted to Trump by Qatar.
Reportedly, Trump travelled to the NATO summit in the aircraft in Turkey but came back in an older presidential aircraft. The lack of features like advanced anti-missile defence systems, missile detection and countermeasure capabilities may have influenced the decision. The subpoenas will force the reporters to appear before a grand jury.
According to Reuters, the Trump administration has maintained that it has no intentions to curb press freedom, but the investigators will look into the leaking of classified information to the reporters. A department spokesperson had said that the administration is “committed to protecting journalists’ ability to do their jobs.
