Nick Offerman is celebrating two Emmy nominations this year, one of which has left him feeling surprised.
The “Parks and Recreation” alum is, in fact, taking on the iconic Harrison Ford in a comedy award category.

Offerman reflected on this curious turn of fate at Jimmy Kimmel Live! Alongside wife and actress Megan Mullally, during an episode hosted by Rosie O’ Donnell. O’Donnell set the ball rolling by congratulating Offerman on earning two Emmy nominations.
According to The Wrap, the actor took the opportunity to reflect on his journey from just working in the industry to becoming an actor worth an awards nomination. “It’s so nice to have a job as an actor,” Offerman said. “And then to get all the way to where you’re in the mix of, like, being awarded for your great show, it’s pretty swell, you know?”
While he expressed gratitude for the nominations, Offerman admitted that one category completely threw him off. “And, like, in one of them, I’m up against Harrison Ford, as a supporting actor in a comedy, which I did not see that coming,” he said with a laugh.
The actor was referring to the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category at the 2026 Emmy Awards. Within this category, Offerman earned his nomination for his role in “Margo’s Got Money Troubles”. Ford is running against him with a nomination for his performance in “Shrinking”.
Both actors have been dabbling in diverse roles and adding to their prolific repertoire. After his breakout role as Ron Swanson in “Parks and Recreation”, the actor has gone on to get acclaim for his recently Emmy-nominated show. Ford’s nomination has attracted interest as his performance in “Shrinking” has been widely praised and set against his successes with Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises.
The category also includes Colman Domingo (The Four Seasons), Paul W. Downs (Hacks), Stephen Root (Widow’s Bay), Michael Urie (Shrinking), and Tyler James Williams (Abbott Elementary).
