Lil Nas X Says Rehab Changed the Way Fans See His Social Media

Lil Nas X is finding humor in how fans respond to his social media after rehab. The rapper returned to Instagram with a joke about how even a thirst trap now inspires supportive messages. The playful update came as he marked his 10,000th day alive. It also offered another glimpse at his recovery after a more serious health update earlier this summer.

Lil Nas X shared several Instagram Stories around the milestone. He joked about how fans now react to him online. “Ever since I got out of rehab, everyone’s like ‘OD’ nice to me,” he said. Then, he imagined posting something much less serious.

The rapper joked that if he shared a thirst trap, fans would respond, “Keep fighting king.”

The Lil Nas X Instagram posts also included a cake marking his “10,000th day.” In another clip, he celebrated reaching the milestone and joked about making it to the occasion.

Grammy winner Lil Nas X has used humor throughout his recent return to social media. However, the jokes follow a difficult year and a more candid health update.

The Lil Nas X mental health update in June offered more context. In a video shared to Instagram, he said he had spent several months in rehab and had since returned home. He also said he was working with both a therapist and psychiatrist, whom he described as “really helpful.”

In the same update, the “Old Town Road” artist said doctors diagnosed him with bipolar disorder. He told fans he was “doing much better” and said treatment had helped him feel more grounded.

His rehab recovery followed an August 2025 arrest in Los Angeles. Police accused him of injuring officers during the encounter, and he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He later entered an inpatient treatment program.

A judge granted him mental health diversion in April 2026. Under the program, the court could dismiss the charges if he completes treatment and meets the required conditions.

For now, Lil Nas X appears comfortable bringing his usual humor back online. Even a simple social media joke carries new meaning after his public health journey.
