Brian Austin Green’s TMI Admission Is All About His Sex Drive

Brian Austin Green says getting older has changed both his sex drive and the way he thinks about intimacy.

When a listener asked whether men experience a lower sex drive as they age, Green immediately agreed. Although Green believes his sex drive has declined with age, he said physical intimacy now carries more importance as a form of connection.

Brian Austin Green says getting older has resulted in a lower sex drive

The 53-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 alum addressed the subject while responding to a listener on iHeartRadio’s I Do, Part 2 podcast.

“Sure, absolutely, of course,” he said. “That is a chemical thing. That is testosterone. That is what men, as they age, start naturally losing.”

Green acknowledged that people can use supplements, but said he had personally noticed the change.

“But, to me, honestly, absolutely. Sex drive lowers. There’s no way to avoid that. I didn’t ask for it,” he said.

However, a lower sex drive has not made Green view his sex life negatively. He previously said on the same podcast that sex had “absolutely” improved as he got older.

Green explained that he now focuses less on his own insecurities and more on what his fiancée, Sharna Burgess, enjoys. He also said intimacy has become about more than the physical experience.

“It’s not just the physical act the same way,” he said. “It’s the connection.”

That approach differs from how Green described his previous marriage to Megan Fox. The former couple were together for nearly 15 years and married from 2010 until 2021.

“I led with physical attraction,” Green previously said of that relationship.

After becoming single, he wanted to approach dating differently. Green said he preferred building a genuine connection first instead of beginning with attraction and constructing a relationship around it.

He said he and Burgess were open about their strengths and weaknesses when their relationship began. The couple became engaged in July 2023 and share a 4-year-old son, Zane.

Green also shares sons Noah, Bodhi and Journey with Fox, as well as son Kassius with ex Vanessa Marcil.

For Brian Austin Green, aging may have lowered his sex drive, but he said it also shifted his attention toward emotional connection within a relationship.
