Prince William seemed to be put in a tough position due to Prince Harry’s surprise UK return. According to a royal expert, the heir’s “hand is being forced” to welcome his brother to the royal fold, reportedly. It was also said that as the future king, he might have to work with Harry on his charity projects.
For those unversed, the Duke of Sussex surprised everyone with his sudden decision to return to his home country. He and Meghan Markle, along with their kids, moved back to Britain last week.
Prince Harry has Prince William ‘over a barrel’ amid UK return, per expert
Prince Harry’s return to the UK has reportedly put pressure on Prince William. Royal expert Katie Nicholl told Hello! Magazine that the duke has got his elder brother “over a barrel.” According to her, the siblings would now be “geographically so much closer.” Hence, it would make it difficult for William to be “adamant that there will be no reconciliation.”
Nicholl highlighted that King Charles has reportedly welcomed Harry back into the royal fold. Therefore, William might land himself in a tough position amid his feud with his brother. He would seemingly have to be in the same room at several royal gatherings. Furthermore, the expert noted that William might also have to interact with the duke in the future regarding his projects.
“There will be some pressure on William from perhaps the Archbishop or other church members,” Nicholl said. According to her, the Sussexes’ decision to move to Britain would help in the brothers’ “inevitable reconciliation.”
For those unversed, William and Harry used to be pretty close. Their relationship dynamic changed after the younger sibling stepped back from his royal duties. He left the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle, and rebuilt a new life in California.
However, the brothers’ bond soured after Harry criticized members of the royal family in the infamous Oprah Winfrey interview. He reportedly did the same on a Netflix documentary and in his memoir, “Spare.”
Furthermore, Nicholl said, ”The one thing we know about William is he is absolutely committed to the future of the monarchy, and therefore he is in quite an unenviable position, and his hand is really being forced on this.”
