Tom Hardy is returning to MobLand Season 3 after reported tensions with the show’s creative team
According to Variety, Paramount+ confirmed Hardy will reprise his role as Harry Da Souza. He plays the street-smart fixer for the Irish crime family at the center of the series. Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren lead the Harrigan family as Conrad and Maeve.
Earlier this year, reports claimed the show had fired Hardy after a dispute behind the scenes. However, it was later reported that the situation was more complicated. The outlet said tensions existed between Hardy, screenwriter Jez Butterworth, and producer David Glasser. Despite accusations from different sides, the three reportedly worked to settle their creative differences.
On-set behavior of Hardy and the availability of Butterworth were cited as concerns. The outlet also reported that Glasser took a no-nonsense approach with actors. Director Guy Ritchie and Glasser reportedly wanted Hardy to return to the series. Their efforts appear to have paid off with Hardy now confirmed for Season 3.
Before fans see Season 3, MobLand will return with its second season on Sept. 18. Paramount+ will release new episodes weekly. The official logline says the Harrigans will “struggle to show a unified front” as rivals threaten their criminal empire. Harry must also “walk a dangerous tightrope” as tensions inside the family grow.
The new season will continue the dangerous power struggles surrounding the Harrigan family. Paramount+ has provided a definite answer for Hardy’s future for now. Harry Da Souza will return for another round when MobLand reaches Season 3.
