The name switch on Ashley Tisdale’s Instagram is official. The “High School Musical” alum switched her profile display to Ashley French after unveiling her new site, “By Ashley French”.
In a check-in reel, the actor explained why the move is happening now to her 16 million Instagram followers. She linked the change to family life, entrepreneurship, and a tighter filter on what she shares. The actor married composer Christopher French in 2014, and they share two daughters, Jupiter and Emerson.
Ashley Tisdale changes her Instagram name to ‘Ashley French’ after name change update
The actor made Ashley French visible on her handle and display name. Meanwhile, she laid out the thinking in plain words. In her reel, captioned “A quick check-in”, she says, “I finally launched By Ashley French. I’ve never really been this intimate before, but I have so much to talk about, especially now in my 40s, having my kids, and being a parent running a company.”
In the mini makeup GRWM reel, the mother of two addressed the identity shift. She adds, “I’ve been Ashley French for so long at home, but I really never changed publicly because everyone knows Miss Ashley Tisdale. I just felt like it was time for people to know me for me, and not just a character or a celebrity.” The social media name change, she suggests, is about alignment between home and work.
She also outlined new boundaries for sharing. As she says in the reel, “For so long I have shared so much of my life on social media…you don’t know what’s real, what’s a bot….in order to protect my peace I didn’t want to keep sharing in that way.”
Additionally, her blog frames the reset as growth after setbacks. On By Ashley French, she writes, “The truth is, most people hit that “now what?” wall at some point. They just don’t talk about it.” She continues, “It’s less about having a perfect plan, and more about building practices that help you move forward.”
Therefore, the “@ashleytisdalefrench” name update doubles as a brand pivot. She teased her Moon Milk drop, home projects, and future posts, and invited followers to suggest topics in the reel too.
