A Spice Girls reunion may still be in the cards. It’s something their adoring fans have wanted to see for years, and they may get their wish at long last. Mel C, who was Sporty Spice in the band, has hinted at a possible reunion in the near future.
The singer is out promoting her new album Sweat, which is scheduled for release next year. She says discussions are underway to bring back the all-time best-selling female group.
It would be the first time fans have seen them in concert since their 2019 Spice World tour, the only one without Victoria Beckham. Next year will be a special one in the history of the group, adding even more speculation that the band may get back together.
Mel C confirmed that the Spice Girls reunion could happen for their 30th anniversary
As if the band and promoters needed another great selling point, 2026 will provide them with one. Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Spice Girls, who went on to become worldwide superstars still talked about today.
When asked about a potential reunion on Good Morning America, Wednesday, Mel C responded: “I remain optimistic. It’s our thirtieth anniversary next year.” Mel adds that she’s incredibly proud of the generations their music has reached, and for her, the decision to tour again is a no-brainer. “I would like to get back on stage with the girls,” she said.
Before they can lock in on a reunion tour, though, Mel says the group want to make sure it’s the right thing they can all agree on. That could be the point of contention. Posh Spice, aka Victoria, said last month that she’s not sure she can still sing.
Victoria hasn’t sung with the Spice Girls since the closing ceremonies at the 2012 London Olympics. She did, however, showcase her vocal talents recently, singing the band’s famous song Viva Forever with her son, Cruz, accompanying her in an Instagram video.
The Spice Girls have sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
