Ex-Prince Andrew’s Demands To King Charles Before Royal Exile — Source

According to an insider’s report, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, has reportedly agreed to step away from royal life and give up his title, but only after negotiating several personal conditions with King Charles. Andrew, who had long resisted fully stepping back, allegedly submitted a list of terms he wanted approved before formally leaving royal duties and accepting his new position outside the institution.

Former Prince Andrew reportedly insisted that he would not leave the Royal Lodge, the £40 million Windsor estate he has lived in for more than two decades. He believed a longstanding agreement allowed him to stay there until 2078 and made no indication that he planned to move.

However, royal biographer Andrew Lownie told RadarOnline that the former prince eventually shifted his stance but only after securing new assurances. “He’d been holding out for all sorts of requirements,” Lownie said. “One is that he has a proper staff at his new home; two, that that position is guaranteed when (Prince William) imparts the throne; three, that he was paid large sums of money, not just an allowance, just to get out.”

His brother, King Charles, made it clear that continued resistance from Andrew risked extending the fallout to his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. According to insiders, the monarch clarified that the sisters’ roles, titles, and future involvement in the monarchy could be reconsidered if Andrew kept resisting his removal from public duties. “The signal couldn’t have been clearer,” one senior source explained. “Beatrice and Eugenie would be protected, but only if Andrew stood down.”

Another insider added that while “it wasn’t presented as an ultimatum,” the implication was unmistakable: “It was basically a bribe, but put in the most polite language.” The final agreement ensured that Beatrice and Eugenie retain their princess titles, keep their places in the line of succession, and remain eligible for future public roles. Beatrice will also continue to serve as a Counsellor of State. “For Andrew, safeguarding his daughters was the red line,” the source said. “Once he was assured their position would remain intact, he stepped aside.”
