Only seven castaways remain in the fight for the million-dollar prize on Survivor 49. Last week, the island claimed its 11th sacrifice when Jawan Pitts was blindsided at Tribal Council. His exit is proof that no one, not even the most well-connected player, is safe. One stray vote, one mistimed advantage, and even the most insulated player can be sent packing.
The seven players left all have a viable path to the end. However, I would be remiss to ignore that some players are in a better position than others. Some castaways have pulled ahead by developing strong relationships or securing powerful advantages. Episode 11, which airs on Wednesday, December 3, will end another castaway’s Survivor journey. And while I can’t be certain who that player will be, I do have some theories.
We predict who’s most likely to go home next on Survivor 49
At its core, Survivor is a social game. Strength and challenge wins can buy time, but in the end, a player must win over a jury to be crowned Sole Survivor. When I think about who will be the next to fall, my mind rushes to their current social standing and threat level. Who has the most allies? And who is a frequent topic of discussion around camp? There are a few players I believe are in a precarious position heading into Episode 11. Let’s breakdown who should be the most worried…
Steven Ramm
Steven Ramm’s name has been floating around for the last few episodes. The Rocket Scientist is well-liked around camp, but he often finds himself in the minority, scrambling to secure safety before Tribal Council. His intelligence has allowed him to finesse his way out of dangerous positions. After a tribe swap left him surrounded by former Uli members, Steven kicked his social game into high gear. He recognized he was at the bottom, and knew the only way out was to find the cracks in Uli’s foundation. While his brain has gotten him out of trouble, it may also be his downfall. If the opposing alliance wants to take a stab at his group, he is the most appealing target.
He appears more strategic and athletic than his number one ally, Kristina Mills, making him the easy vote if his competitors wish to weaken his alliance.
Savannah Louie
Savannah Louie is the cat with nine lives of Survivor 49. She’s been the number one target for the last few episodes, but she’s always managed to secure her safety. She currently has some protection. She holds an extra vote, and her closest ally, Rizo Velovic, has an Immunity Idol that could be used to shield her. But even with these protections, she is still quite vulnerable. Rizo may have burned his Idol on Savannah earlier in the game, but as the endgame approaches, self-preservation kicks in. Savannah has allies, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they flip on her soon. Her challenge wins make her a worthy contender for the win, which may spell trouble for her soon.
Kristina Mills
In Episode 10, Kristina Mills burned her Immunity Idol on Steven, whom she believed was the intended target. Sadly, her heroic action didn’t keep her numbers intact. She is entering Episode 11 without protection and with one fewer ally after last week’s blindside. Lesson for future players, don’t use your Idol on another player, especially at the final eight.
Fortunately for Kristina, her personal threat level remains relatively low. The opposing alliance is more interested in her allies (Steven Ramm and Sage Ahrens-Nichols). However, her fractured relationship with Sophie Segreti makes her vulnerable. Sophie knows Kristina doesn’t trust her, and she’s previously floated the idea of cutting Kristina loose. While I’m sure her allies (Soph Balerdi, Savannah, and Rizo) would prefer going after a big fish, they may take a swipe at Kristina to appease Sophie. They want to preserve her loyalty, and that desire may mean offering Kristina as a sacrificial lamb.
