Patrick Mahomes’ Comments About Travis Kelce After Chiefs’ Shock Defeat

Patrick Mahomes is savoring every moment he has left on the football field with Travis Kelce. Their time together may soon be coming to an end with the Kansas City Chiefs’ playoff hopes in serious jeopardy.

There’s been a lot of speculation that Travis may retire at the end of this season, as he may be without a team. The future Hall of Fame tight end turned 36 in October with his contract set to expire at the end of this season.

The three-time AFC champions lost 20-10 to the Houston Texans on Sunday, giving them a 6-7 record and leaving them on the outside of the AFC playoff picture.

The Chiefs missed a chance at a historic Super Bowl three-peat last season, and now it seems their reign of dominance may be ending. Together, Travis and Patrick have been among the teams to beat for years.

Kansas City has never missed the playoffs since 2014 and has reached the AFC Championship Game or the Super Bowl every season with Patrick as the starting quarterback. After their loss to the Texans, Patrick reflected on Travis’ future. “Every season I’ve had with him these last few years, I try to…I cherish it because you never know,” said Patrick.

In October, Travis broke the Chiefs’ franchise record for receiving touchdowns, earning him praise from his brother, former Philadelphia Eagle Jason Kelce. “He’ll have the option to do whatever he wants to do after this season,” Patrick added in the post-game press conference Sunday.

Travis has not only made a lot of money, but he’s also appeared in his share of movies, commercials, and TV shows. He’ll be tying the knot with pop superstar Taylor Swift, with the two announcing their engagement earlier this year.

To make the playoffs, the Chiefs must win all their remaining games and hope that some of the teams ahead of them slip up. Their loss to the Texans officially ended their nine-year reign as AFC West champions.
