Leonardo DiCaprio doesn’t like watching his films back. That’s among the surprising revelations he made in a recent interview. Despite starring in so many critically acclaimed movies, it appears he would rather look forward than bask in old glory.
On five separate occasions, he’s been nominated for an Oscar in the Best Actor category. Arguably his most iconic movie role, told a fictionalized version of a tragic ship sinking in the early 1900s. Fans may remember him best because of that, but for Leo, it seems like it was no big deal.
Leonardo DiCaprio says he has never rewatched Titanic

Titanic was one of the biggest movies of 1997, grossing over $2 billion at the box office. While audiences marvelled at his portrayal of Jack Dawson, Leo has never been curious about how he played that character. In an Actors on Actors interview alongside Jennifer Lawrence for Variety, the actor made a startling confession.
At one point, Jennifer asked Leo if he’d ever rewatched Titanic. “No. I haven’t seen it before,” Leo responded. Leo confessed that he and Kate Winslet “never predicted that it would be what it was.” The film won 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, with James Cameron winning Best Director.
Leo has previously said that Titanic was very much an experiment for Kate and him, which took off unexpectedly. He says of all the movies featuring him, the one he’s seen the most is The Aviator. For him, working with Martin Scorsese was particularly special in that movie. That earned Leo his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor. In November he revealed his favorite Christopher Nolan film.
Leo earned a Golden Globe nomination for Titanic, which at the time was the most expensive film ever made. In total, they earned 14 Oscar nominations. By winning in 11 categories, they equalled the Oscars’ record set by Ben-Hur.
The famous song from Titanic My Heart Will Go On won a Grammy for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or for Television.
