Why Jack Nicholson’s Friends Are Worried for ‘Very Cut Up’ Hollywood Legend

Diane Keaton’s death hit actors around Hollywood hard, particularly one of her famous co-stars. Jack Nicholson is said to be struggling since the Academy Award winner’s death in October. That has those close to the As Good As It Gets actor very concerned about his well-being.

“He’s stunned and very cut up over her passing,” a source said about what Jack is going through. The two worked together on films like Reds and Something’s Gotta Give. They remained very close throughout the years, per reports. Diane’s health had reportedly worsened in the months leading up to her death, something she kept very private.

Diane Keaton was more than just a good friend to Jack Nicholson. When it comes to Diane’s death, “it feels like he’s (Jack) lost a sister,” an insider told RadarOnline. Their early 2000s film Something’s Gotta Give was a big success, with Diane winning a Golden Globe. They reportedly bonded during and after that movie and remained close until her death. Keanu Reeves also had a part in that movie and the Canadian had fond memories of working with Diane.

Jack isn’t the type of person to share his feelings with anyone, but apparently, Diane was one of those he often confided in. Her death has seemingly led Jack to realize that his time may be coming soon. The One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest star is 88 and hasn’t acted in any movies since 2010.

He’s repeatedly turned down offers for a comeback to Hollywood while he apparently rarely goes out to socialize. That has many worried that he may be suffering from something serious like dementia or obesity. Jack did a lot of partying in his early years in the business, according to an insider, and he has been fortunate to live as long as he has.

Jack’s career in Hollywood lasted over five decades, with the actor claiming three Oscars and six Golden Globes. For years, he regularly attended Los Angeles Lakers home games, though he doesn’t seem to be going as often anymore.
