Jean Smart showcased her unfiltered side in her speech at the Golden Globes 2026. The actor took home the Best Actress in a TV Comedy Series in “Hacks.” This was her third award for her mesmerising performance in the series. During her recent speech, Smart joked about being a “greedy b**ch” for one more trophy in her kitty.

Jean Smart called herself a “greedy b**ch” in her Golden Globes speech for sweeping her third trophy. She said, “What can I say, I’m a greedy bitch. Thank you to the Golden Globes—I am absolutely thrilled to be here.” The 74-year-old further added, “I’m one of the luckiest people, not in this room, in this entire business. It does not go unappreciated.” The “Designing Women” star continued, “I cannot tell you—I have the best bosses, I have the best showrunners, I have the best cast, led by the brilliant Hannah Einbinder.”
“My kids…I’m just surrounded by so much support, and this show has been such an incredible journey,” she added. Jean also said, “Our writers’ room, God bless you all. Thank you so much.” She further explained, “There’s just a lot that could be said tonight; I said my rant on the red carpet, so I won’t do it here. Thank you. But let’s all do the right thing,” she exclaimed. Moreover, Jean expressed, “I think everybody in their hearts knows what the right thing is to do. So let’s do the right thing.”
Last year, Smart opened up on what makes timeless comedy, following her back-to-back appreciated comedies, especially Hacks. She told Harper’s Bazaar, “I think really good comedy either has to be just inspired silliness or it has to be really, really smart.” The veteran actor continued, “I mean, I’ll laugh at just about anything if it’s funny, even if it’s in poor taste.” However, she doesn’t like comedians resorting to “blue, gross comedy” as they generate laughs through shock value.
