Dax Shepard Reacts to Cher Shading Marriage to Kristen Bell

Dax Shepard has weighed in on Cher’s now-viral comments about his marriage to Kristen Bell, and he’s taking the whole moment in stride. The actor and podcast host addressed the buzz during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, reacting to Cher’s playful shade from a recent episode of Armchair Expert. When asked what he and his wife thought about Cher joking that she didn’t understand what Bell sees in him, Shepard didn’t hesitate.

Dax Shepard found Cher’s comments about Kristen Bell marriage ‘hilarious’

“We thought it was hilarious,” Shepard said. “That’s why we posted it. It was so good. We kept it in because it was great.” The moment unfolded when Cher, 79, appeared on the podcast alongside Kristen Bell, 45, her Burlesque co-star and Shepard’s wife. During the conversation, Shepard jokingly asked Cher who she thought would be Bell’s “dream partner,” acknowledging with humor that Cher seemed to think Bell “could do better.”

Cher took a playful jab at Shepard by joking, “The truth is, I trust her. So you must have something that I don’t see.” Shepard laughed and responded, “Yeah. There you go. There it is.” He then reassured her by giving a green flag statement, “I’m not threatened by her shining. Love it. The shinier she gets, the better.”

Shepard later doubled down on the joke, even poking fun at how internet headlines can spiral out of control. In a tongue-in-cheek aside, he joked about being “served divorce papers,” quickly clarifying how easily jokes can be misinterpreted online. “The internet is a dangerous place,” he quipped, acknowledging how quickly humor can turn into misleading narratives.

Shepard shared his love for Cher, saying, “I adore you, and I understand that nobody is good enough for her.” Bell agreed and joked, “He’s almost too good for me,” describing him as a “slow burn.”  The comments follow Shepard’s earlier admission that he once had a “horrendous history of cheating,” and his acknowledgement that the pressure feels higher now, explaining that while he knows he could “blow this whole thing up,” the fact that “the whole world is watching” adds a new layer of stress.
