Barry Keoghan Rocks New Long Hair Look Ahead of Beatles Project

Barry Keoghan is stepping into Ringo Starr’s shoes, and hair, well ahead of his upcoming Beatles biopic. The Irish actor debuted a noticeably longer hairstyle at a London screening this week, instantly sparking comparisons to the drummer’s iconic mop-top from the 1960s. Fans caught a glimpse of the shaggy look, hinting that Keoghan is already channeling Starr for the ambitious Sam Mendes-directed project.

Barry Keoghan, 33, turned heads at the Crime 101 premiere in Leicester Square, rocking a voluminous mane, way longer than we’ve seen him before. The Oscar-nominated star went full messy, layered cut, resembling Ringo Starr’s signature mop-top. Paparazzi caught him casually adjusting his hair while rocking a scarf over his face, clearly letting those locks steal the spotlight.

The premiere also gave fans a peek at Keoghan hanging with his Crime 101 squad: Halle Berry, Chris Hemsworth, Monica Barbaro, and Mark Ruffalo. The heist thriller hits theaters next month, but the real talk is Keoghan’s Beatles glow-up. Fans will have to wait until April 2028 to see him channel the legendary Beatle, part of Mendes’s ambitious four-film series, with each movie spotlighting a different member of the Fab Four.

Mendes’ mega project, officially called The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, was first teased back in early 2024 by Sony Pictures and Neal Street Productions. After months of fan frenzy and endless speculation, the cast was finalized in 2025. The project sees Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Harris Dickinson playing John Lennon, and Keoghane portraying Ringo Starr. Mendes called it “the first bingeable theatrical experience,” with each movie weaving together the lives of all four Beatles.

Even Ringo himself is talking about the project. “There’ll be Beatles in mine when I joined, and there’ll be Beatles in Paul’s. We’ll all be there. Can’t wait to see what he does,” Starr told PEOPLE. He also had a laugh about Keoghan’s casting back in 2024, joking that he hoped the actor wasn’t taking “too many” drumming lessons.
