Here’s How Kylie Kelce Stays off Her Phone Around Her Kids

In a world where we are constantly tethered to our screens, finding a balance between staying connected and being present with our families can feel like a losing battle. Even for someone as relatable and down-to-earth as Kylie Kelce, the struggle is real. The mother of four has often been praised for her grounded parenting style. But, she recently admitted that she isn’t immune to the “doomscroll” trap. During a candid podcast segment, Kelce shared that she occasionally has to “check herself” to ensure her phone isn’t stealing moments away from her daughters.

Kylie Kelce reveals this is what helps her stay off her phone around kids

Kylie Kelce’s approach to digital detoxing is refreshingly simple and practical. Instead of trying to rely on willpower alone, she uses physical boundaries to keep the tech at bay. “I do my very best to try to put my phone in the other room,” she explained. Her go-to move is leaving her device on the dining room table. By physically separating herself from the screen, she removes the temptation to mindlessly check notifications while still remaining reachable. “I make sure that my ringer is on so that if I get a phone call, I will obviously hear the phone ringing,” she added, ensuring she doesn’t miss anything urgent.

For those extra busy days when she is specifically waiting for an important message but still wants to play, Kelce has a clever “hands-free” hack. She revealed that she will sometimes wear just one headphone while she goes about her day with the kids. This allows her to stay present in the room without having to hold her phone.

“Oftentimes your headphone, if you fix your settings on your phone, will actually read your text messages to you,” Kelce shared. This setting allows her to hear a message and simply say “yes” to have it read aloud, completely bypassing the need to look at a screen. “That’s how I stay off my phone around my kids,” she concluded. Whether it’s the “dining room table rule” or the one-headphone trick, Kelce’s tips encourage parents to stay present. They show that presence doesn’t mean disconnecting—it means being intentional.
