Since welcoming her baby boy in February 2023, Keke Palmer has often shared glimpses of her motherhood journey. In a conversation with TODAY’s Craig Melvin on February 2, she spoke about how she is navigating the “terrible twos” with her toddler.
Keke Palmer discloses her baby boy is going through the terrible twos phase
Keke Palmer is currently busy promoting her upcoming series, “The Burbs,” and recently stopped by TODAY for a conversation. When host Craig Melvin asked for an update on her son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson, she replied that he was “being terrible” as he is about to complete the “terrible two” stage.
Palmer said, “He has a really crazy attitude. He would tell me, ‘Mommy, what you doing for me? What you doing for me?’ He’s speaking his baby language, but I’m right there doing everything I can to make sure I show up.” Her baby will turn three years old on February 25.
Elsewhere in the interview, the “Baby, This is Keke Palmer” podcast host said that playing a mother for the first time in “The Burbs” gave her “so much more than I knew it would.” She explained, “I guess I should have expected it. After you have a kid, it really does expand your heart in a way you can’t imagine until it happens. And so, I definitely put that into the character Samira for sure.”
Palmer shares her baby boy with her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson. She often gives little glimpses of her life with baby Leodis on her social media. Back in October 2025, the actor, who usually refrains from making personal posts, opened up about the challenges of motherhood in an Instagram post.
Alongside a series of photos that showed the mother-son duo smiling and laughing, the “One of Them Days” star addressed the mothers who are “doing it on their own.” She wrote, “Not as a moment of pity or as a badge of hardship because being a mother is difficult, period. I just want to acknowledge you!” The lengthy caption was a heartfelt message from her to all mothers.
