Livvy Dunne recently appeared on Logan Paul and Mike Majlak’s “IMPAULSIVE” podcast during the Fanatics’ Super Bowl weekend party. There, she opened up about her SI Swimsuit cover photo, which came with pain and an injury that nobody thought of when they saw the breathtaking bikini photos.
Dunne was proud of the accomplishment, writing on Instagram, “I AM A SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SWIM COVER MODEL!” She added, “Somebody pinch me! Thank you @mj_day for making my dreams come true,” on Instagram. Though it was painful, she could not help but be grateful.
Livvy Dunne’s SI bikini cover photo kneeling in the sand was shot while she was injured
Livvy Dunne shared the behind-the-scenes detail of her SI bikini cover photo during the red carpet stop on Logan Paul’s “IMPAULSIVE” podcast at Fanatics’ Super Bowl Party, where Paul and co-host Mike Majlak chatted with her about the whirlwind that comes with a huge career moment. Dunne called Sports Illustrated “an iconic brand.” She added that it meant a lot to join the list of women who came before her.
Moreover, Dunne explained, “When you’re shooting, you don’t know if you’re going to get the cover or not,” adding, “So, I’m like posing in the sand, and I’m like, ‘This could be the cover.’” The moment was more pressing because Dunne said she worked through an injury. She revealed, “This is a fun fact. I have a fractured kneecap, and I fractured it last year during my gymnastic season.”
Dunne added that she still hasn’t had surgery and that she still has a “fractured kneecap.” But the most surprising part for the hosts was when she revealed, “I was like kneeling in the sand, and that was the one shot that made the cover,” adding that she also dealt with the cold during the shoot. The influencer described the moment as a push-through situation, saying “the adrenaline was rushing” while she stood “in the cold water in my bikini.”
Dunne sounded proud more than anything — proud of the bikini SI cover photo, and proud that she did it even when it was not so easy.
