The former Prince Andrew, who recently had his titles stripped, had a foul mouth when he was a royal. This angered his mother, Queen Elizabeth, who did not approve of his behavior.
Details about the ex-Duke’s foul mouth were published in Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell’s new book, The Royal Insider. It includes insight on Andrew’s “entitled” behavior, which resulted in a reprimand from his mother.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor allegedly told staff to “F off”
In the book, Paul notes that Andrew would tell his staff to “F off” often throughout the years. The author spoke to Fox News prior to the book’s release. “I had lots of interactions with Andrew over the years. I saw his pompousness firsthand. He would tell people to ‘F off, get out of here, F off,’ which was obscene, really — the way he treated people. I remember the staff revolting because they were kept up late at night.”
Prior to his role as Diana’s butler, Paul served for many years as the Queen’s footman. He worked with Diana from 1987 until 1997, when she died in a car crash in Paris.
Paul discussed Buckingham Palace parties thrown by Andrew and ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. “They’d use the queen’s staff and chefs, with extravagant menus that treated guests to three- or four-course meals — complete with puddings and starters — as if it were an à la carte restaurant,” he recalled.
When she learned about Andrew’s behavior toward the staff, Queen Elizabeth put a stop to it. “This must stop. These are my staff. They’re not yours, Andrew, and you must treat them with respect. They’re here to look after us. It’s their duty to look after us, and we must appreciate that,” Paul said, adding, “Andrew did get a ticking off from his mother. But then they wouldn’t let the maids into the rooms to make the beds. They would stay in bed at all hours. They would abuse the system.”
