Hilary Duff Worries Kids Might Only Remember Being With Nanny Amid Tour

While Hilary Duff is back to touring on her The Lucky Me Tour, she admittedly fears her kids will only remember the time they spend with their nanny. As a mother of four, Duff is managing both her personal and professional lives, getting back to the stage as a pop star after almost two decades. The Disney alum has spent years building a life that looks a lot like the one she always said she wanted. And still, she admits that part hits harder than fans might expect.

Hilary Duff gets real about fear of her kids only remembering time spent with nanny during her tour

In a new Rolling Stone cover story about her return to music, Hilary Duff opened up about the worry of touring while leaving her kids with their nanny. She admitted to the guilt that can come with balancing motherhood and performing. As such, Duff shared how even the practical parts of touring, including fittings, packing, and long days, can mess with her head when her kids need her.

The “Lizzie McGuire” star described one moment that stuck with her as she prepared to leave for the tour. She told Rolling Stone, “In my mind, I’m like, ‘They’re going to look back at this time and be like, I was sick and my nanny was painting my toes and my mom was downstairs shopping.’” And she added, “That should be me up there.”

Duff’s concerns come as she prepares for a major pop chapter, with Rolling Stone reporting that her first album in more than a decade, “Luck… or Something,” arrives on February 20, and her touring plans include both intimate dates and a wider run. Additionally, she has spoken about how much she misses performing.

So even as Duff questions whether returning to the spotlight makes sense for her kids, and she picks up random FaceTime calls from the nanny amid her work schedule, the mother of four admits she feels the pull in both directions. Like most parents, Duff has not figured it all out, which only signals how important her family is to her.
