Hailee Steinfeld took to Substack to write about the changes that have come as she got pregnant with her first baby with Josh Allen. She said that one moment on the couch made everything feel more real, writing in Beau Society, “The reality that our little family is about to grow really started to settle in,” adding that she still keeps her lists and stays busy with research as well as reworking life around what a newborn needs.
However, Steinfeld reveals, “The most profound and grounding part of getting ready for this baby has been the introspective side of it: the quiet conversations I’m having with myself almost every day.”
On the home front, Steinfeld said she has entered full nesting mode and has found joy in putting together a nursery, even when tiny choices feel huge. She joked, “why is choosing a rocking chair this emotional?” Moreover, she shared that the nursery remains a work in progress, but watching it come together has made the new chapter feel more real.
Steinfeld added that support from friends has helped, from texts to voice notes to the kind of advice that comes with a promise of “you’ll thank me later,” further revealing that her mom hosted a baby shower at their home, which added to the feeling that the baby’s arrival is getting closer.
