Savannah Guthrie Pledges $500K Donation Amid Mom Nancy’s Disappearance

Today co-host Savannah Guthrie has pledged to donate half a million dollars to a missing children organization. This follows the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie. She was supposedly kidnapped from her Arizona home at the start of the month and has not been seen since.

Savannah Guthrie will donate half a million dollars to a missing children group

As the search for her missing mother entered its fourth week, Savannah took to Instagram to share an emotional message. In it, she confirmed the million-dollar reward being offered for information that will bring Nancy home. And she also revealed a charitable donation her family is making.

“We know that we are not alone in our loss,” the TV presenter said, noting that “millions of families” endure similar uncertainty. It’s this shared experience that prompted the Guthries to make the $500K donation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

“We are hoping that the attention that has been given to our mom and our family will extend to all the families like ours who are in need and need prayers and need support,” she went on.

According to the NCMEC’s website, it is the nation’s largest and most influential child protection organization. “We lead the fight to protect children, creating vital resources for them and the people who keep them safe,” the group says.

Elsewhere in her Instagram post, Savannah spoke of the harsh reality her family is facing. “We also know that she may be lost, she may already be gone,” she said. “She may already have gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in Heaven. If this is what is to be, then we will accept it.”

Savannah continued: “But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”
