Senator Accuses Donald Trump of ‘Following’ Benjamin Netanyahu Into Iran Strikes

The war with Iran is giving a US Senator a sense of deja vu. Ruben Gallego is expressing his frustrations over the attacks launched by Donald Trump over the weekend. The Representative from Arizona is blasting the President for, in his eyes, “following” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

For Ruben, it’s a sad reminder of what transpired with the United States during the war with Iraq in the early 2000s. The recent attacks in the Middle East display to him that we’ve learned nothing from the situation in Iraq years ago.

Sen. Ruben Gallego says President Trump launched a “dumb war”

The President’s desire to go after Iran is not a move that Ruben is on board with. Speaking to Chris Hayes of MS Now, he called the cause a “dumb war.” He’s accusing the President of doing Israel’s bidding while alleging that going after Iran is something that Benjamin has wanted for decades.

Ruben adds that there are many ways the US can show its support for Israel, but waging war is not one of them. His response comes amid a report on Monday which states that Donald ordered pre-emptive strikes against Iran. According to the President’s security officials, this was out of fear that Iran would hit American bases.

The war with Iran has been slammed by many celebrity figures. Comedian Jon Stewart poked fun at the situation. He said that he can’t believe American bombs are “smarter than our President.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio had said that not acting against Iran would result in a high number of casualties in the US. He calls Donald’s move a very savvy decision because of this.

For Ruben though, he expressed sorrow for the attacks, believing many innocent civilians in the Middle East are dying because of the President’s actions. There was one prominent person killed in the attacks last weekend, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

TELL US – DO YOU BELIEVE THE PRESIDENT IS ACTING IN THE BEST INTEREST OF ISRAEL RATHER THAN THE UNITED STATES?
