Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren and Other Celebs Honor Chuck Norris After Death

A pair of Hollywood tough guys are paying homage to an iconic martial artist. Chuck Norris was a towering figure in that universe, earning black belts in countless fighting disciplines, including karate, and judo.

Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren knew him well, having worked with Chuck on The Expendables 2 in 2012. The two film stars, renowned for kicking a few butts on screen themselves, had fond memories of the Walker, Texas Ranger star.

Chuck Norris died at 86

Sylvester and Dolph are showing their softer sides, which we rarely see in movies. The two bitter rivals from Rocky IV honored Chuck, who died this week at the age of 86. On his Instagram page, Dolph declared, “Chuck Norris is the champ.” He went on to say, “I always looked up to him as a role model. Meanwhile, the man commonly known as Sly Stallone said that Chuck was an “All-American in every way.”

The Expendables 2 sees a host of tough guys sent to Nepal to rescue a Chinese businessman. Among the other renowned action stars in that flick are Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis and the muscles from Brussels, Jean-Claude Van Damme. Chuck portrays a retired military veteran named Booker. The film grossed over $300 million at the box office.

Chuck’s death has come as a massive and sudden shock. He had a medical emergency in Hawaii this week before things took a turn for the worse. He impressed fans in a video just over a week before his death. Chuck was seen sparring outside in an Instagram post to celebrate turning 86 on March 10. “I don’t age, I level up,” Chuck said in the video.

The exact circumstances behind his sudden passing are not known. His family confirmed the sad news while saying he was surrounded by family at the time.
