Brandy is opening up about her dating life. Specifically, she is addressing the speculation that she once had a romantic relationship with Shyne. Those rumors came after the rapper turned politician bragged about allegedly dating her years ago.
Both Shyne and rapper Ma$e who the former recently spoke, bragged about reportedly being involved romantically with Brandy. The star of the television show Moesha responded to the claims made about her dating life back in the day.
Shyne bragged about dating Brandy on a podcast
Anything Shyne and Brandy once had was purely platonic. At least that’s Brandy’s take on the rumors begun by the politician from Belize. On her Instagram account, she acknowledges the two knew each other in the late 90s but says they were merely friends. According to Brandy, “that friendship is now being mischaracterized as ‘we dated.’
This all started when Shyne appeared on an episode of Ma$e and Cam’ron’s podcast. He called Brandy his dream person, alluding to his hope that they’d get together one day. Shyne suggests that the dream eventually came true with the two previously striking up a romantic relationship according to him.
In October, Brandy set the record straight about something else. She’d abruptly left a concert early during her The Boy is Mine tour, which she did alongside Monica. Brandy explained her reason for leaving that show. She says that she was feeling dehydrated and had concerns about fainting, which led her to bail on that concert.
Back in 1996, Brandy briefly dated late NBA star Kobe Bryant, while she was also previously involved with Wayne Morris of Boyz II Men.
While discussing the speculation about Shyne, Brandy also took the opportunity to plug her new book. She said that those rumors started by Shyne are part of the reason she wanted to write a book, adding, “It’s time to tell my truth. Her new memoir Phases will be available beginning on March 31.
