John Oliver Has Donald Duck Warning for Disney

Disney is being put on notice about one of its Fab Five characters. John Oliver is having some fun at the company and police’s expense. The British comedian was discussing a recent operation in which a police officer dressed up as Donald Duck. This was all part of a peculiar undercover sting.

The undercover cop attempted to cross a busy street to see whether drivers would yield. Not everyone did before the man dressed as the famous duck crossed, leading to tickets being issued.

Donald Duck hits the public domain in 2030

On Sunday’s edition of Last Week Tonight, the comedian declared, “Ducks are terrifying!” John reiterated his belief, which he’s shared before, that all ducks, including Donald, have a corkscrew penis.”

The operation served as a perfect segway for John to discuss some big news surrounding the cartoon duck in the future. In 2030, Donald Duck will hit the public domain. On his program, John teased, “Things are going to get interesting then.”

John has fired shots at Disney characters in the past, hitting the public domain. In 2024, Steamboat Willie hit the public domain, and John took advantage to poke fun at the situation. He brought the character with him while he was a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Lately, John’s primary focus on his show has been on politicians.

On his show, John notes that the Donald Duck operation is one of many stings’ cops have had. It’s been a major part of law enforcement operations over the past four decades. This is the first sting John joked about regarding a “failure to yield to a gigantic duck.” Donald is one of Disney’s famed Fab Five characters alongside Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto.
