The statement comes after claims that an 11-year-old girl was left shaken following an interaction with a guard believed to be accompanying the artist.
“Chappell was not aware of any interaction between this mother/daughter and a third-party security officer,” the rep said. They added that the singer “did not see them” during the time in question (via Daily Mail). The spokesperson also emphasized that Roan did not instruct anyone on her team to approach or confront the fan.
The controversy began after the child’s family publicly shared their version of events. They alleged that a man they believed to be part of Roan’s security detail approached them in what they described as an “aggressive” manner after the child noticed the singer.
