Many late night show hosts have recently questioned U.S. President Donald Trump about the “very significant” gift that he claimed he received from Iran. Late night hosts ask about Donald Trump receiving gift from Iran
Several late night hosts are reportedly questioning Donald Trump about the “significant prize” he has received from Iran amid the war. On Tuesday, Trump spoke to reporters in the Oval Office, saying that Iran had sent him a gift. He lauded the move and said, “They’re gonna make a deal. They did something yesterday that was amazing, actually. They gave us a present, and the present arrived today. It was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money, and I’m not gonna tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize.”
The Daily Show’s Josh Johnson called out Trump for receiving a gift from the country the U.S. is fighting against and asked, “Wait, you got a gift from the people you are currently at war with?” He also suggested a scenario in which the Secret Service would ask the president not to bring the gift to the situation room, as it might be dangerous. He conveyed what Trump would reply and stated, “But it’s expensive! And it’s ticking. I bet it’s a watch.”
Meanwhile, Jimmy Kimmel also threw shade at Trump and asked, “What kind of present did they send him? Did they give him a Vitamix?… Who would have ever guessed he could be easily manipulated by expensive gifts?” Kimmel suggested that Iran must have given Trump a medal for being the “world’s greatest enemy.”
Although Trump has not revealed the nature of the gift, he disclosed in his Oval Office speech that the present is oil-and-gas related.
