A man previously reported to be Chappell Roan’s bodyguard has cleared the air about a viral incident involving the singer and an 11-year-old girl. Brazilian football icon Jorginho claimed that an incident involving Chappell’s security left her daughter in tears. Both Jorginho and his wife, Catherine Harding, claim a security guard “berated” her and her daughter after the girl silently smiled at her when the two were at the same restaurant.
Pascal Duvier, the man revealed to be at the center of this drama, was falsely reported in outlets as Chappell’s bodyguard. Now, in a new statement, Pascal has confirmed he is not employed by the musician. Furthermore, he took full responsibility for the upset.

“I do not normally address online rumours, but the accusations currently circulating are false and constitute defamation,” Pascal wrote in a statement. The bodyguard took to Instagram Stories to make the clarification. “I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st.”
“I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual,” he revealed. He added, “I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan.” “The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management, or any other individuals.”
After the incident went viral online, Chappell’s reps confirmed she was unaware of the exchange. They went on to say the Pink Pony Club singer didn’t see the exchange that left the child upset. Later, in her own Instagram post, Chappell stated she has “zero tolerance for any kind of aggressive behaviour.”
Pascal continued in his statement to address his behavior towards the child. He said, “he made a judgment call based on information we obtained from the hotel.” Moreover, he was influenced by “events I had witnessed in the days prior and the heightened overall security risk of our location.”
Pascal ended his statement by expressing remorse for the controversy. However, he did defend his behavior during the exchange. “My sole interaction with the mother was calm and with good intentions,” he alleged. Ultimately, though, “the outcome of the encounter is regretful.”
