Some new chilling details are surfacing about Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Her daughter, Savannah, sat down with her colleague, Hoda Kotb, on the Today Show. Nancy is still missing after failing to attend her traditional Sunday church service on February 1.
An emotional Savannah revealed that she and her siblings saw their mother’s home after her disappearance. Upon seeing the state of Nancy’s place, it became clear to Savannah that “something was very wrong.” Early into the investigation, police deemed this to be a kidnapping.
Nancy Guthrie was taken without her shoes
It’s probably the last thing one might expect to happen to an 84-year-old woman with a heart condition. Savannah fought back tears as she shared candid details about some of the evidence discovered at her mother’s home. “The doors were propped open, there was blood on the front doorstep, and the Ring camera had been yanked off,” revealed Savannah. She remembers thinking, “This is not ok.”
At first, Savannah and her siblings thought Nancy might be going through a medical episode. She went on to recall how her mom was allegedly taken “in the dead of night in her pajamas, with no shoes, without her medicine.”
Savannah believes it must have been incredibly frightening for Nancy to go through that. It’s something the Today Show co-host can’t even imagine. For her part, Savannah has been doing everything she can to help the police. Last month, she offered a $1 million reward to anyone who came forward with information.
As for the investigation, Savannah notes that it’s still ongoing while remaining hopeful about the situation. Shen added, “We need answers.” Savannah believes she heard a message from God: “She’s with me.” Even so, the religious Savannah wants to be at peace, knowing that someone can do the right thing.
