Before she walks down the aisle, Taylor Swift might have to pay a visit to court. The singing icon has another potential legal matter on her hands. The fiancée of NFL star Travis Kelce released her 12th studio album last year, The Life of a Showgirl.
A Las Vegas singer has some issues with that album and the accompanying merchandise. Taylor’s accuser claims that she’s been building up a brand for years. She alleges Taylor is putting all that in jeopardy with her latest album.
Maren Wade is suing the billionaire singer

Now Maren Wade has bad blood with Taylor. Confessions of a Showgirl is a brand she claims she has been building for years. In court documents obtained by TMZ, Maren claims that the Confessions of a Showgirl dates back to 2014. That’s something she says she used for a weekly column in Las Vegas Weekly. Ultimately, that the column turned into a live show, then a touring production. Today, it is considered her signature brand, encompassing performances, writing, and digital media.
Maren is suing Taylor for trademark infringement. She alleges that her brand was registered as a trademark in 2015. Since Taylor’s album came out, Maren says her brand is at risk of suffering significant losses. The documents state that Taylor and her team knew of Maren’s trademark but went through with the album under that name, nonetheless.
In this latest lawsuit, Maren wants an injunction to stop Taylor, her management team, record label and merchandising partners from using The Life of a Showgirl on goods and services. She’s apparently also seeking damages from Taylor. Interestingly, Maren’s social media posts quote Taylor songs and hashtags.
