Euphoria Season 3 is almost back on TV screens! And, ahead of its return on Sunday, the show’s biggest stars came together in Los Angeles on Tuesday night for the premiere of what could be the final series.
Among the Euphoria stars on the red carpet were Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya. The pair are two of the biggest names to come from the hit show. But they are rumored to have been feuding for some time.
Here’s how their encounter on the red carpet went down.
The pair posed up a storm at the Euphoria Season 3 launch
Despite the alleged tension between Sydney and Zendaya, the duo walked the red carpet at this week’s premiere. That said, while they posed up a storm individually, the duo expertly avoided appearing in any photographs together.
Rumors have been swirling for some time that the pair are no longer friends due to their differences in political views. This POV gained particular traction after Sydney’s controversial American Eagles ad campaign last year. Her appearance in it (and subsequent doubling down) prompted widespread backlash from both fans and her celebrity circle.
What’s more, Sydney was noticeably absent from a recent all-female Euphoria Season 3 cast photoshoot. It featured Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow.
“Omg, obsessed with Sydney being absent from the girls’ group shot,” someone said in response to the shoot, which was shared on Instagram. “Notice how the girls are NOT with Sydney?” another Euphoria fan commented.
All of the Euphoria girls, plus Sydney, were present at Tuesday’s premiere, however. As was the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, and another of Euphoria’s standout stars, Jacob Elordi.
Speaking about the future of the show on the red carpet, Sam told Variety there are “no plans” for a fourth season. That is perhaps unsurprising, given the alleged tension between the cast … and the busy careers many of them have now been catapulted into.
