A pair of familiar faces will be back together on NBC’s morning lineup next week. Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb were the first all-female team to ever co-host Today back in 2018. The two will be reunited beginning on Monday, opposite one another.
Hoda and Savannah’s partnership lasted until Hoda left in January 2025. Savannah missed a significant amount of time this year to be with her family after her mother, Nancy, was allegedly kidnapped. The investigation into the 84-year-old’s disappearance remains ongoing.
Craig Melvin will be absent from his Today show spot

During Savannah’s absence, Craig Melvin was holding down the fort at her anchor’s desk. Now it’s his turn to take a little time off. “You’re heading off on a very well-deserved vacation,” Savannah said to him on Thursday’s Today Show episode. That means Hoda will be back alongside Savannah next week.
Savannah returned to the anchor desk of the show on April 6 after over two months away. During her time off, she spoke with Hoda. In an exclusive interview, Savannah revealed some clues about the state of Nancy’s home following her disappearance.
Hoda and Savannah go back a long time. When she returned to work, Hoda shared a touching Instagram message. During their chat about Nancy’s disappearance last month, Savannah discussed returning to work. Hoda was blown away by Savannah’s composure and ability to share what she and her family have been going through.
Because of her mother’s disappearance, Savannah missed the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. She was due to co-host the opening ceremonies. Upon announcing her co-anchor for next week, Savannah added, “That will be fun.”
Savannah’s official return to work this month was full of emotions. Fans cheered her on during the broadcast, with many holding signs in support of Nancy’s daughter. Nancy was reported missing on February 1.
