Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Reveals Post-ACL Surgery Scars in New Images

NFL star Patrick Mahomes’s wife, Brittany Mahomes, recently shared a series of photos from a vacation, in which the athlete’s post-ACL surgery scars are visible. This comes a few months after he got injured during a crucial Kansas City Chiefs game at the end of last year.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’ post-ACL surgery is on display in new photos

Earlier this week, Brittany Mahomes shared a carousel of images on Instagram from her and husband, Patrick Mahomes’s, family vacation. She captioned it, “Go to a TX farm, invite all ya friends and fam. The best weekend with our squad!”

In the set of images, a few showed the quarterback’s scars from post-ACL surgery. One of the images features the American footballer on a paddle with his youngest daughter, Golden Raye. Since the athlete is in shorts, a vertical scar is visible on his kneecap. It extends downward until the upper calf.

The subsequent image shows Kansas City Chiefs star on a farm with his firstborn, Sterling, as he holds her in his arms while she tries to pet the animal. In this, the second scar is on the side, starting from the upper part of his kneecap and running down to his upper calf. In another image, he is again on the farm, but this time, he’s holding Golden. Owing to the angle from which the photo was taken, the image shows both scars on his left leg, just above the tattoo.

Patrick Mahomes suffered a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in his left knee, along with an LCL (lateral collateral ligament) tear. It happened during a Kansas City Chiefs game against the Los Angeles Chargers on December 14, 2025.

Subsequently, he underwent a procedure performed by Dr. Dan Cooper, the Dallas Cowboys’ head team physician. Soon after, the athlete began his rehabilitation (via ESPN). Reportedly, he will likely need at least nine months to recover, which means he will be missing some of the team’s upcoming matches.
